Stephanie Sanders
Stephanie has been dancing for 17 years, starting with her first class from Miss Jenny. Her favorite style of dance has always been ballet, but she has studied all types, including jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, and hip hop. Stephanie has had many leading roles in ballets, including: Clara, Dew Fairy, Snow Queen, and the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker, and Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty. She currently attends UNR and performs at the UNR dance concerts. Stephanie has also been a performer in the Nevada Opera productions of Orpheus and the Underworld and Aida. After graduating from UNR she plans to travel abroad and continue her dancing and performing career. Stephanie teaches all forms of dance, including ballet, jazz, tap, creative movement and lyrical. Stephanie is our lyrical dance team coach.
Jillian Helget
Jillian was born and raised in the Reno area. She began dancing with Miss Jenny when she was 2 years young. Through her years of dancing she has had many leading roles, including: Merliton Queen in The Nutcracker, Bumblebee Queen and Flora in Sleeping Beauty, Alice from Alice in Wonderland, the Genie from Aladdin, and Driella from Cinderella. Jillian's favorite dance form is ballet, because of the athleticism it takes to make ballet look perfect. She also loves lyrical dance because it allows her to step outside of the ballet realm and be more creative.
Jillian teaches hip hop at the studio and for the Washoe County School District 21st Century program. She loves teaching hip hop because there is less structure and the dance form leaves everything up to the creativity of the students and the choreographer / teacher. Jillian will be
the producer for the Miss Outstaning Teen 2010 and the co-producer for the Miss Reno/Sparks
and the Miss UNR Scholarlarship Pageant. Jillian is our hip hop team coach.
Carmen Hill
Carmen started dancing at the age of 4 and has grown into a very artistic performer and teacher. She is dedicated to all dance forms -- ballet, jazz and lyrical being her favorites. She currently teaches contemporary dance at the studio and she is an inspiration to her students. Her future is full of excitement as she plans to travel, continue her dance training and her education. She would like to perform on Broadway. Carmen will be auditioning for So You Think You Can Dance.
Best of luck, Carmen, we know you can make it!! Carmen is our Contemporary team coach.
